Swan Sculpture
1) “Sculpture”
This is a strong one; type it right into Marketplace or eBay and watch what you find. A wall sculpture will add dimension to your space that a framed artwork can’t, and it will always be a conversation piece. I found my wooden swan in a local thrift store, but you can easily find something similar as birds are a bit of a trend right now.
2) “Primitive”
A key adjective for antiques. Everything that comes up has character. Think farmhouse, or old cottage for furniture. The art you find with this one is more neutral in color too.
3) “Ornate”
On a thrift site, you’ll turn up with woodworking, stained glass, or even delicate metalwork. On a new site, you’ll find floral and other complex motifs in frames, dishes, and more.
4) “Feminine” (of course)
Classic, but useful. I use this coupled with a specific item, “feminine lamp,” for example. I’ve found colored glass, rounded features, and delicate details on things that could easily have less personality.
5) “Weathered”
Outdoor decor and rustic wood pieces that look like they’ve been in the family for years can be found under this term. Our side table has actually been passed down to us from my mother-in-law, and I love that it looks worn and used. The character it brings helps the room look more like home and less like a newlywed apartment (no shade there). Here’s a similar one with carving in the top that can give your living room some sophistication and character.
6) “Arched”
Arches have made a huge comeback in home design lately, but they’ve been used again and again in beautiful furniture and glass pieces.
7) “Cottage”
You don’t need to have a dream of living in a meadow for this to work for you. Sellers are wise to what is in style. You’ll find things that are hand-painted, have dainty details, and look straight out of grandma’s house.
8) “Wrought Iron”
Material searches are great for weeding out mass-produced or super low-quality goods. Wrought iron is heavy and durable for outdoor furniture and decor, and it tends to be more ornate.
9) “Ceramic”
SO many things are made from ceramic. Wall decor to unique kitchen necessities. may of these are vintage and hand painted as we’ve replaced so much with plastic and cheaper materials nowadays. I couldn’t find something comparable to this, but if you’re looking for a napkin holder, there’s this cutesy daisy one thats feminine and makes a statement.

10) “Brass”, “Brushed Nickel”, “Chrome”, “Cast Iron”, “Copper”
Another material search. Use it to find your finish of choice in light switch plates, drawer pulls, light fixtures, sink fixtures, and so much more! Add it to a decor item, or another word on this list, to find something unique to you that coordinates with your style immediately.
BONUS: “Medieval” or “Renaissance”
These are going to be seeing a huge revival in home decor. They mix masculine and feminine perfectly. You’ll find carved wood, etched metal, and romantic imagery.
